Pregnancy and the Flu

The funny thing about pregnancy is that it generally feels a lot like the flu. Discomfort, pain, nausea, vomiting, and possibly cramping. As mothers, when we get the flu, it’s not really the end of the world. At least for me.

While the flu ravaged my family last weekend, I surprisingly felt almost exactly the same. This was a blessing for me, but I was still in no condition to take care of the rest of my ailing family. Luckily our parents came to the rescue, in the form of food, cleaning, and babysitting 🙌.

There is nothing like having the entire family taken out by one bug. We did more laundry in five days, than we have in weeks. We had to master the art of taking caring of other vomiting individuals while not falling victim to the urge ourselves. It was brutal, and I’m already dreading next winter. We’ve been sick since December. I hope  this is the last bout of yuckiness for the year. I’m pretty sure I’ll be recovering for a while.

What about you? Have you experienced some semblance of the Black Death this season?
